PROJECT OVERVIEWSetting the bar for the cannabis industry
Puffco is a cannabis tech startup dedicated to helping people experience of hash by creating premium consumption methods for the modern-day cannabis enthusiast. Originally, concentrate consumption was far from a simple process; commonly involving a butane blow torch to create hot surfaces on specialized rigs. As the social lens of cannabis evolved and became more accepted, demand for a more controlled, safer, and efficient experience grew. To answer these demands and resolve many of the challenges seen in the traditional method, Puffco hired me to create their top tier product offering - The Puffco Peak Pro.
The Process
Design and engineering worked as a single creative unit, designing, developing technology, and defining constraints to push the boundaries to set the bar for the industry in every category of the user experience.
Ideation: sketching was a key tool in the development process to explore as many ideas as possible in the shortest amount of time. After stakeholder review, we brought the 2D to 3D to better understand the form.
Definition: Bringing the 2D to 3D was one of the most informative step sin the process. during this phase we learned a lot about the form and what felt like progression.
Delivery: Once we refined the surfaces and form, we tirelessly focused on every last detail, from button feel, haptics and lighting effects, to surface finish and color.
